Ballarat & Grampians Community Legal Service (BGCLS) is a registered charity providing free legal services in Central Highlands, Grampians and Wimmera regions. We have an office in Ballarat and will be opening an office in Horsham in early 2024. We provide outreach services to Ararat, Stawell, St Arnaud and Daylesford. We support individuals and families in 11 LGAs from Bacchus Marsh through to the South Australian border. BGCLS welcomes applications from people of all genders, ages, First Nation peoples, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and from lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, gender diverse and intersex people. It is an exciting time to join the team at BGCLS in 2024 with our services expanding in Horsham and the development of our new strategic plan. Our current vacancies are detailed below and applicants are welcome to contact our CEO, Narelle Laing on 5331 6328 for a confidential discussion.
Volunteer Solicitors Volunteers are integral to the establishment and maintenance of our service delivery model, which is fundamentally different to the services available elsewhere in the private legal system. Volunteer Solicitors must have a current practising certificate.
Our volunteer clinics operate Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons. Volunteers are rostered according to their availability and the areas of law they can advise in.
